What is blog? The word blog is taken from weblog. It is a term which express a website discussion and information published in the World Wide Web (www) and it consists of post (articles), comments (visitors thoughts can be published). The default order of a blog is newly/recent post come first in the home page. Also you can set a static page for your home page in WordPress.
How to set a static page in WordPress?
Just go to dashboard and click Setting. Now click Reading under it. Select A static page (select below) radio button and select the page you want to see your homepage static page. Click Save Changes.
If you wants Your Latest Posts you can configure the number of post shown in the home page and the style if it comes with full article or summary. See the picture above.
Some blogs are made for particular topic. The topic are different such as sports, web design, tutorial, internet earning etc. Some are presenting links to other websites. Whereas others are personal presentation, journals, daily life and free style writing in a specific topic.
What is blog Content?
Content is the king? Keep this first sentence in your mind when writing a post/content. The content must be unique (If you want more unique visitors to your blog). The WordPress supports multiple author. It will allows you to specified their role and select the permission. Some blog supports creating post offline and import them later. A general blog mix text, photos, & links to other websites/pages, and other media.

To make your blog interactive commenting is important. It allows users/visitors express their feelings/thoughts about the specific topic and make the topic more interactive.
History of blog?
The term weblog was coined by Jorn Barger on 17-12-1997. The short from “blog” was coined by Peter Merholz. He broke the word weblog into two phrases we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999.
